My name is Judit. I am a costume designer and collector based in Budapest, with over 15 years of experience in the film and theatre industry. Over the course of my career, I founded AMBRA.
Driven by a deep interest in art history, I have always been fascinated by historical periods and garments. I am especially drawn to the details that make a costume feel natural, lived-in, and authentic to the character. Continuous research and the careful collection of unique pieces - particularly jewellery and accessories - form the foundation of my creative process and are central to my everyday work.

About Me
The founding of the company created a framework for building a professional community and for establishing, developing, and preserving a significant 20th-century costume collection. This foundation has enabled me to take part in complex, high-quality costume productions.
Today, alongside costume design, I focus primarily on collecting jewellery and accessories, further strengthening AMBRA’s collection. The use of original pieces from each era—or their adaptation and reinterpretation as reference models—is one of the core principles that defines my approach. Direct engagement with authentic garments from costume history has given me both professional confidence and creative freedom, allowing for deep immersion in the visual language and cultural heritage of a
particular period in film.
At AMBRA, our sensitive and detail-oriented approach ensures that each character’s clothing accurately reflects their emotional state and social position. It is this process that makes the field so compelling, continually inspiring further research and the exploration of new creative directions.
